Located on the hillside of the Connecticut River, we have a number of marinas, lakes, hidden streams, cascading waterfalls, thousands of acres of state forest, and hiking trails. We celebrate community, the outdoors, art, history, music, theater, crafts, cuisine and conversation. We cherish our small town way of life, striving to preserve it as we live fully embracing life in the 21st century.

Calling all bakers! Join the fun and enter the State Baking Contest!

Adults (ages 16+) can show off their best Lemon Bliss Cake, while Juniors (ages 7-15) compete with delicious S'more Granola Bars.

Entries are scored on overall appearance, texture and flavor.

Chester Fair winners will be awarded at the annual state contest held in November.

Congratulations to this year’s Chester Rotary Citizenship Awardees: Sydney Liggett, the Diana Amara Honoree, who will be attending Connecticut College in the fall where she will be studying psychology and theater; Isabel Rice, matriculating at Brown University, to study biomedical engineering; Cody Saunders, matriculating at UCONN to study engineering, and Sadie Iselin (not pictured) who will be attending Eastern Connecticut State College to study biochemistry. The Chester Rotary Citizenship Award is awarded to graduating high school seniors who are Chester residents and who have demonstrated leadership in their school community as well as a passion for service in their local community. This year the Chester Rotary Club awarded up to $8000 to be used by recipients to support post-high school educational costs whether for a traditional college or for a vocational or trade school program. Applications for 2027 for will be available Oct. 1 from the Guidance Department of Valley Regional High School.
