Good morning Chester!

⚠️Duke Energy reports that Chester County was the hardest hit of its South Carolina service areas, with more than 6,500 outages at the peak of the storm. As of 8:00 AM, just over 2,000 customers remain without power.

⚠️Crews worked throughout the night, and additional crews are arriving today to assist with restoration.

⚠️Duke Energy currently expects all Chester County outages to be restored by the end of today. Restoration times are estimates and may change.

THE FY 2026–2027 BUDGET IS APPROVED! ✅

Each year, the City adopts an Operating Budget that serves as our financial plan for the year ahead. It determines how City resources are used to provide services, invest in our community, support our employees, and keep Chester moving forward.

We are proud that the FY 2026–2027 City of Chester Operating Budget has officially been approved!

This budget includes:

✅ No Millage Increase
✅ Increased Investment in Parks & Recreation
✅ Continued Investments in Public Safety
