Randolph County Police Association

Randolph County Police Association Aggravated Battery against a Police Officer was the usual $10.00 fine and $5.00 court cost.

In the late 1960's and early 1970's the Law Enforcement community of the County was not please with the results of the prosecutorial actions of the State's Attorney's Office. Criminal cases were disposed of without input from the arresting officer and/or without notifying the officer of a plea agreement. A cry in the disappointment of the prosecution went out across this County and former State Re

presentative Vince Birchler hear our cry and championed to our cause. Representative Birchler offered his lake site as a place to meet and discuss our plan of action. State Representative Birchler hosted a bar-b-que for the attending officer. It was that night the attending officers united as one, tore a strip from a table cloth and signed their names to the original charter of the Randolph County Police Association. Their goal was simple: Better prosecution from the State's Attorney's Office. And from there we grew to an association comprised of Law Enforcement Officers and Business supporters.

Today, the Ruma PD was host to High Risk Traffic Stop training. 16 officers from Ruma, Prairie du Rocher, Baldwin, Sparta, Germantown, Brooklyn, Shiloh, and New Athens participated in the course instructed by Saline Co. Sheriff Detective Shannon Deuel and Harrisburg PD Asst. Chief Logan Leverette.

We appreciate SILEC sponsoring the training and providing the training gear.

A special thanks goes out to GayLynn Kruse at the Ruma Mill for donating a delicious lunch and Village President Sabrina Deterding for providing such great hospitality.

We could not have effectively trained without role players, Prairie du Rocher Village President Mark Wilson and Chester Fire Fighter Tim Crow.
