Our seniors enjoyed a sunny afternoon creating their own summer garden pots under the guidance of Master Gardener Jean Persely from BMO Logistics - Garden.

Participants learned valuable tips on potting, fertilizing, and caring for their containers to keep them thriving all season long. It’s safe to say that summer has officially arrived! ☀️

Did you know chesterfield township is part of Tree City USA? 🌳🌲🍃 Although Earth Day and Arbor Day are behind us, we encourage Chesterfield Township residents to continue ongoing efforts to make Chesterfield a better place throughout the year.

As residents spend more time outdoors tending gardens, improving landscapes, and enjoying our parks, it's the perfect opportunity to support the trees and native plants that help make Chesterfield such a beautiful place to live!

Our friends from the MSU Extension offer great information about Native Plants and Ecosystems as we continue to celebrate with the Arbor Day Foundation year round! https://www.canr.msu.edu/nativeplants/

Our parks are beautiful natural spaces, and that means sharing them with local wildlife, insects, and yes, ticks.

Tick numbers have been especially high in recent years throughout Chesterfield Township, so it's worth taking a few simple precautions before your next visit.

If you observe injured, aggressive, or unusual wildlife activity, please notify township staff. Thank you for enjoying the outdoors responsibly and helping to preserve a safe environment for all visitors.
