Hampshire Regional Energy Transition Project
All Hands Meeting

Thursday, August 13, 2026 | 6:00 PM | Westhampton Town Hall

The Hampshire Regional Partnership, supported by the Municipal Energy Manager, was established to help the regional Towns and School District reduce energy use, lower emissions, and manage their utility costs. Over the past year, each town within the region has advanced its independent energy work, including building assessments, weatherization, heat pump installations, and solar projects. At the same time, the Regional School District Administration has begun energy planning at Hampshire Regional High School.

Hampshire Regional High School is the largest energy user in the District, but because it serves multiple towns and is not owned by any one municipality, it does not fit neatly within a single town’s Green Communities program. At the same time, several of the school’s heating and ventilation systems are at or near the end of their service life. Together, these factors create both a challenge and an opportunity:
to plan a coordinated, large-scale energy transition project that can modernize the building,
pursue available grant funding, and
reduce long-term utility costs for the District and its member towns.

This meeting will report on progress to date within the HR Partnership, present a proposed three-year
energy transition project for the High School, and outline short and long-term funding strategies that
benefit Hampshire Regional High School and the five towns.
