Chesterfield schools and school division offices will be closed Thursday, Feb. 20, and all CCPS activities are canceled.
🔸Building operations supervisors and facilities staff should report at noon.

Adult Education Classes
Due to the forecasted winter weather, Chesterfield Schools and school division offices will be closed Wednesday, February 19th.. Twelve month employees must be available as needed to communicate with their direct supervisor.

The School Board work session, business meeting and public hearings on the Superintendent's proposed Financial Plan for fiscal year 2026 and the proposed Capital Improvement Plan scheduled for Wednesday, February 19 will be rescheduled for Tuesday, February 25 February, from 3pm. m. , at the Public Meeting Room (10001 Iron Bridge Road).

Due to anticipated winter weather, Chesterfield schools and school division offices will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 19. Twelve-month employees should be available as needed for communication from their direct supervisor.

We promised an update before 5 a.m. tomorrow morning, and here it is: Due to deteriorating conditions, Chesterfield County schools will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 12. Twelve-month staff should report two hours late. Per School Board Policy 2160-R, liberal leave options will be in place.

2 Hour Delay! No GED morning classes on Wednesday ❄️

At this time, Chesterfield County schools and school division offices will operate on a 2-hour delay Wednesday, Feb. 12. Building operations supervisors and facilities staff members should report on a regular schedule.

🔸It is important to note that continued precipitation is forecast this evening and overnight with temperatures expected to hover around the freezing mark. Because of this, we will reassess conditions and provide an update to families by 5 a.m. tomorrow morning. We know that uncertainty around school schedules is inconvenient, but our priority is ensuring we have the most accurate information to make the best decision.

Chesterfield County schools and school division offices will be closed on Tuesday, Feb. 11.

Gov. Glenn Youngkin has declared a state of emergency in advance of impending winter weather, and the forecast shows snow arriving in our area tomorrow morning around the same time that students and staff would be arriving at school.

Due to road conditions particularly in the southern part of the county, Chesterfield County schools will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

The Chesterfield County School Board has appointed Dr. John Murray as the new superintendent of Chesterfield County Public Schools, effective Jan. 17. After a nationwide search, Dr. Murray was selected for his commitment to academic excellence, exceptional leadership skills and innovative vision. During a Jan. 16 meeting, the School Board voted unanimously to appoint Dr. Murray to lead central Virginia's largest school system.

Dr. Murray is the first superintendent since at least 1921 to have been a student in Chesterfield County Public Schools. He attended Chalkley Elementary, Jacobs Road Elementary and Manchester Middle before graduating from Manchester High.
