I am honored that the community has put their trust in me, and promise to continue making progress for our children and our school district. Thank you for everything, Chesterfield.

Congratulations to Lee Panfili, Mike Russo, and Andrea Katz. Thank you Rajeev Menon, Suruchi Batra, and Agnes Marsala for giving this community your blood, sweat, and tears the past two months.

THANK YOU, CHESTERFIELD

Thank you to everyone who put one of my lawn signs in their yard, and to everyone who fixed the signs after the big windstorm the next day.

Thank you to everyone who hosted or attended a meet & greet.

Thank you to everyone who asked me where I stood, and everyone who shared with me where they stood.

Thank you to everyone who told me what it was like in Chesterfield back when they went to school.

Thank you to everyone who shared my best social media posts, and for tolerating my posts when they weren’t so hot.

Thank you to my wife and my children for all their help, and to Rajeev and Priya Menon who have become like family.

Thank you to everyone who offered encouragement and advice, even when I was too stubborn to take it.

Thank you to everyone who discussed taxes and consolidation with me, whether we ended up agreeing or not.

Thank you to everyone who wrote, offered to write, or just read an endorsement.

Thank you to everyone who believes I am the right person for this job, and told a friend.

Thank you for everything, Chesterfield.

I HAVE ONE LAST FAVOR TO ASK: WHETHER YOU HAVE DECIDED TO VOTE LITT OR OTHERWISE, PLEASE GO OUT TODAY AND VOTE.

On behalf of Rajeev, myself, and our families - thank you to everyone who came out last night to our open-house meet & greet at the Inn at Fernbrook Farms. It was a great night in the perfect setting.

If you are one of the few residents of Chesterfield who we haven't met yet, come out TONIGHT and say hello to me and Rajeev Menon at the Board of Education candidate open-house meet & greet at The Inn at Fernbrook Farms from 7:00-9:00pm.

Light food will be served and children are welcome.

Don't vote for me because I have the best-looking lawn signs, next week's open-house meet & greet is at the best location in the history of meet & greets (The Inn at Fernbrook Farms), or because I'm in the first position on the ballot.

Vote for me because good and important things get done when I'm a member of the Board. To name just a few, these five things have been achieved or undertaken in the short nine months since I was appointed to the Board of Education:

1. Teacher contracts were settled

2. Initiation of Responsive Classroom and its Morning
Meetings

3. Creation of the Chesterfield Heritage committee and the
Fair Funding Litigation committee

4. The addition of Principal of Instruction & Community
Engagement Coletta Graham

5. The introduction of academic achievement goals into the
formal District Goals.

I don't take credit for all the good things that happened since I joined the Board in February. And that is exactly the point.

Since I joined the Board, the Board has been free of the politics, finger-pointing, and lack of transparency which characterized previous Boards. This freedom has allowed all five Board Members to focus on what is best for our children and our community, and to get the good and important things done.

A huge thank you to everyone from the Chesterfield Compressor Station and Pipeline Task Force who presented at Tuesday's public session at the elementary school: Mayor Rita Romeu, Police Chief Kyle Wilson, Board of Education President Christina Hoggan, Sarah Dyson, Tom Flaherty, and Dr. Kennedy Ganti. It provides some comfort to know that Chesterfield's best and brightest are working so hard to keep our community safe from the uncertainties of the compressor station and pipeline.

As I anxiously await delivery of my second shipment of lawn signs, this article provided some important perspective.

Election season brings campaign signs. Do they actually help candidates? What are the laws determining their placement? We talk to experts who have studied these classic campaign tools and a state election lawyer as well as local police who field complaints about signs every time an election nears.

A huge thank you to Rita Romeu for hosting a meet & greet for me and Rajeev Menon on Thursday night. I was overwhelmed not just by the quantity of people who came out, but by the quality of their engagement and support.

This was only the first of many upcoming meet & greets for me and Rajeev, including an open-house for the entire community the week before Election Day (details to follow). We want to meet and speak with everyone between now and November 5.

Tonight's Board meeting began the implementation of our Board of Education's student art initiative. A new project is going to be featured every month.

This month: artwork from some of CES's 4th graders (with some help from Ms. Brilliant). This is going to be a wonderful addition to our Board meetings.
