In honor of Veterans Day all county offices, Rockwood Nature Center, recreation centers, and historic sites will be closed Friday, Nov. 10, in honor of Veterans Day. Parks will remain open.

With more than 50 public parks and 5,000 acres of green space, the Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation Department offers many opportunities for residents to engage in recreation and outdoor pursuits. The county is also home to athletic complexes, where sports tournaments and athletic events are hosted. In addition, the parks system maintains many historical sites, an extensive trail system an
d several conservation areas. Three recreation centers, in Bensley and Ettrick parks and at Stonebridge, the Rockwood Nature Center and the County Fairgrounds are part of the facility inventory. A wide variety of recreation services are offered, catering to the unique interests of citizens. The department’s Program Guide outlines recreation services in these areas: sports and athletics, classes, special events, therapeutic recreation, outdoor adventures, programs for older adults, nature programs, summer camps and historical interpretation. The beer list is looking great for this year we've got seasonal beers like Hardywood's Gingerbread Stout, Ardent's Sweet Potato & Sage, Beale's Brunch Stout; and enough IPA's for this to be a proper Richmond area beer event! At last county we've got almost 50 different types of beer for you to try, so come out and enjoy a beautiful out along the river.
