It offers a variety of outdoor activities, including biking, hiking, picnicking, swimming, camping and family-friendly nature programs. Swift Creek Lake and Beaver Lake give visitors a chance for excellent wildlife viewing and fishing. Use Pocahontas as your base camp to visit nearby Civil War Battlefields, amusement parks, Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and historic James River plantations.

Congrats new Master Hikers Susan & John Lipps for completing Trail Quest this summer. πŸ‘ They began in August of 2021 at Smith Mountain Lake State Park and finished this June at Occoneechee State Park, choosing to receive their certificates close to home at Pocahontas State Park.

If you are interested in seeing the Richmond Symphony here, please refer to our official event: Pocahontas Premieres: The Richmond Symphony.

There have been misleading events posted, but this a public concert, free admission for all. You only have to cover your parking fee ($10/per car on Saturdays).

FYI this is a very popular event that has had to turn people away in the past, so please show up early if you want a spot.
