The Richmond Symphony is back at Pocahontas State Park at the Heritage Amphitheater on Sept 12 from 7:00-8:30 p.m.! 🎼

Founded in 1957, the Richmond Symphony is Central Virginia’s largest performing arts organization, featuring more than 70 professional musicians and serving over 200,000 community members each season. 🎹

Gates open one hour before showtime; admission is free, though parking fees apply. Sponsored by Friends of Pocahontas State Park and Chesterfield Parks and Recreation. Food and Drinks provided by Brew Craft Bar & Kitchen and Pops Kettle Treats.

Congratulations to Nathalia Artus who received her Master Hiker designation at Pocahontas State Park!

Here is what was said about her journey:

"Nathalia Artus completed her Master Hiker ceremony surrounded by friends and family. While the requirement for the certificate is to hike at forty of Virginia’s State Parks, Nathalia visited each of them, one of her favorites being Grayson Highlands State Park.

The most challenging parks for her were those in the Southwestern corner of Virginia - not because the hikes were particularly hard but because her young sons did not enjoy the ride there. Having the ceremony at Pocahontas was special to Nathalia as it was one of the first state parks she visited."

Pocahontas Premieres is once again having its Mini Bluegrass Festival, next week on Aug. 15th from 6-10 p.m. This 2026 concert brings back some performers from the past as well as some new groups performing for the first time at Pocahontas State Park. 💚
