🚨 Reminder-Route 9A Boat Launch 🚨
As we head into the summer season, the Chesterfield Police Department would like to remind everyone about the parking rules for the Rt 9A Boat Launch.
To help avoid confusion and potential enforcement action:
✅ All parking spaces within the lot are for watercraft parking ONLY
➡️Parking to the RIGHT is for boat trailer & vehicle parking ONLY
⬅️Parking to the LEFT is for other watercraft transportation ONLY (vehicles transporting kayaks, canoes, paddleboards)
❌ Passenger or other parking is not allowed
❌ Parking outside of the marked spaces is not allowed
Vehicles that do not appear to be following the noted criteria are subject to ticketing or being towed.
Thank you for helping us keep the area orderly and enjoyable for all!

The University of New Hampshire Survey Center will be conducting a seatbelt observation study at the corners of Rt 63 and Old Chesterfield Rd today between 10:00 and 11:00 am.

This annual statewide observational study of seat belt use is in partnership with the New Hampshire Highway Safety Department and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Observers will be wearing safety vests for visibility, will not interact with or stop motorists, and will be in an area that is safe for them and does not obstruct the motorist's view.

The purpose of this study collects real-time data on seat belt usage across New Hampshire to support traffic safety research and policy recommendations.

An undated photo of an accident scene in front of the Old Sherman's Country Store. Back in the day it was an expensive venture to process multiple accident or crime scene photos and they were not immediately available for investigators to review.

Officers out this morning making sure that Recycled Percussion makes it up Stoddard Hill safely. Good luck on your journey!

These hills are brutal for Justin.

I’ve been with him and Kris for every step so far and this journey has begun with massive relentless hills, heat, and 200 pounds at your hands during any given moment. I hear him repeatedly yelling the distance “my fu***ng calves” over and over, so that will definitely be a theme.

But overall, they are both in good spirits, Kris is his typical hilarious sarcastic self telling Justin to suck it up, and more importantly, I can already tell this will be a memory Kris will never forget.

They are about 4 miles into a 160 mile journey and could certainly use some positive energy along the way. If you are anywhere between Brattleboro VT and Keene NH, feel free to park somewhere safe like a gas station along the route and when we stop to get nutrition, a hug and positive message is always welcome.

Keep pushing 👊🏼
