I think we are going to need the Chesterfield Twp Historical Society to plan more parades, because today was absolutely amazing! There are not enough thank yous in the world for the event they put on today. To them, all of the volunteers, all of the people and organizations who walked or rode in the parade, and to everyone who came out to watch and celebrate - thank you. What an incredibly special way for our special town to celebrate America’s 250th.

🌳 🚲Recreation Update at Fenton Lane Park - walking path extension and new pickleball courts! 🚲🌳

🎾🏓 Chesterfield was awarded a Municipal Park Development Grant. On Thursday night at the township committee meeting, we’ll be voting to approve the contract for the work which includes two new complete pickleball courts to be built! This was one of the most asked for recreation items from residents. I spend a lot of time at the park, and always see the courts being used, so I’m very happy we’ll be able to build two new ones and have more opportunities for people to play.

🏃🚲 The project also includes extending the Fenton Lane walking path from its existing end all the way to the street - so bike riders and walkers can avoid the stone and access the park. We’ve phased in the full path over a few years which has allowed the township to pay for it all using grant dollars.

Construction is likely to begin later this Summer, but I’ll share any updates as we have them!

Yesterday was Cone with a Cop! I, along with our Chief, police department and most of the township committee, spent time at the park eating ice cream, and meeting and chatting with our residents who stopped by.

These events always leave me feeling grateful - to our officers who go above and beyond their normal course of duties - answering our kids’ questions, showing them how the lights and sirens work on their cars, chatting and addressing our residents’ concerns. To our Chief who understands how important it is for our officers and for our community to know each other and leads with this example. And to our residents who showed up and took time out of their busy schedules to come meet, talk and build relationships with our officers.

And last, but definitely not least, grateful that I get to include ice cream in more township events! 🍦🍦

Special shout out and thank you to the Burlington County Sheriff's Office for offering child car seat safety checks!

Today was fun. I got to attend Career Day and talk with a bunch of Chesterfield’s 5th graders!

Very very excited to work with our police department to help launch our latest community policing initiative - and this one also involves ice cream 🍦 They’ll be on the lookout for kids who are “being good” to reward them with ice cream coupons. Thanks again Fundaes Arcade for the ice cream donations!!

Mayor Rebecca Hughes, Chief Mike Davison, the Township Committee and Police Department are very excited to launch a new initiative in our community. Our officers will be out and about with new "Citations" aka Ice Cream Coupons valid at Arcade that they will be issuing to children who are "caught being good" - being a positive influence in our community, wearing a helmet, helping a friend, doing a good deed or a community service. Huge shout out and thank you to Arcade who partnered with the township and donated all of the ice cream coupons!

I stopped by Margerum Road earlier today to check in on the paving project. Preparation has been ongoing over the past few weeks. While the paving was initially planned for tomorrow and Thursday, the weather has pushed the timeline back at least a day. I’ll share an update tomorrow if paving will be able to begin on Thursday.

Thank you to everyone living nearby and impacted by the project for their patience and accommodations. If you have any issue, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
