Our first Bellwood Karaoke Night was a success!! Thank You, Team Chesterfield Week!
Chesterfield County Public Schools is launching a weeklong celebration to honor and appreciate all staff members. Thank You, Team Chesterfield Week will take place Oct. 28-Nov. 1, and everyone is encouraged to express their thanks to teachers and school employees.

The goal of Thank You, Team Chesterfield Week is to encourage and uplift all teachers and all employees of Chesterfield County Public Schools. Unlike days or weeks that focus on one group or another, this week of appreciation covers everyone working in Chesterfield County Public Schools: teachers, cafeteria staff, office workers, bus drivers, skilled tradespeople, custodians, technology employees and all other people working in our schools and central offices.

Here are a few ideas for participating in this week of staff appreciation:
Use your words: Parents, students and families are encouraged to express their appreciation by writing notes, sending emails or having a conversation with a teacher, office staff member, bus driver or anyone else working in Chesterfield County Public Schools. Treats: Community groups could bring in snacks or meals for teachers and staff members at our school. Please email [email protected] if you want to provide treats for our school.
Freebies: Businesses could offer a free cup of coffee, BOGO sandwich, or something else to CCPS teachers and school staff members. The first business to sign up is The Treat Shop; visit one of the three locations to get a free doughnut when you show your CCPS employee ID. Other businesses that want to connect with Chesterfield County Public Schools should email [email protected].

Congratulations to our new music teacher, Ms. Gryder, on her first school performance at Bellwood! Our students are fortunate to have such a talented teacher that inspires creativity, hidden talents, and a love for music at such a young age. Amazing job, Ms. Gryder!

Bellwood Elementary students had a fun day of celebration with our Quarter 1 attendance pep rally. We started the day by watching our 23-24 attendance video and reminding our students that they matter (every student every day). After the entire school watched the video you could hear students chanting "You Matter" to each other and the adults as they walked through the hallways! It was truly a special moment today. So proud of our Bulldogs and how they make each day count. Chesterfield County Public Schools

What a fun PE day with Mrs. Hensel-Smith's class playing Pokémon and Pokémon trainer. Even Mr. Dunn got in on the action tossing the soft yarn balls!

Bellwood is a Title I school located in Chesterfield County, Virginia. Our staff lives by the belief “Every Child; Every Chance; Every Day,” which encompasses our commitment to providing an engaging and relevant education that prepares every student to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing world.

We are dedicated to welcoming each new student into the “Bellwood Family,” as a high transiency rate (41%) impacts our ability to maintain the meaningful relationships we strive to build. Despite the challenges that each child faces, attendance rates remain high. Bellwood provides a high performing, nurturing learning environment for every child.

Community Partnerships:

Community in Schools- Our CIS program spearheads collaboration with local businesses, school and county agencies such as Chesterfield Mental Health and Virginia STAR in order to provide programming that ensures student success. CIS leverages mentors and other community resources to support students and families to ensure sustainable academic success while utilizing evaluative data to constantly improve and drive programming. Our program provides over $500,000 annually in contributions and in-kind support for the Bellwood Community.
