The Chesterfield Circuit Court Clerk’s Office proudly celebrates Pride Month and reaffirms our commitment to welcoming and affirming all court users, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, fairness, and respect.

Virginia continues to strengthen LGBTQ+ protections, including efforts to affirm marriage equality in state law and remove outdated, discriminatory language from the Constitution.

Throughout June, communities across Virginia are hosting Pride celebrations, including the Hampton Roads Pride Weekend, Suffolk Pride Festival, and events across Richmond, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach that uplift LGBTQ+ voices and families.

📢 New: Free Notary Services Coming June 1, 2026!

The Chesterfield Circuit Court Clerk’s Office will offer free notary public services from June 1 – December 18, 2026. Details for 2027 will be shared later this year—stay tuned to our social channels for updates. This service is available by appointment only.

Our notaries can assist with many personal and business documents (contracts, school/employer forms, affidavits, etc.). Up to 5 documents per appointment.

⚠️ Important Restrictions

We cannot notarize documents intended for filing with our office. Email us if you’re unsure.

Virginia notaries may decline notarization at their discretion.

📝 Before Your Appointment

Bring valid government‑issued photo ID (no photocopies).

Bring all documents, fully prepared and ready to sign.

Notaries cannot draft or interpret legal documents—please consult an attorney if needed.

Some documents require witnesses; email us in advance to confirm.
