He set up a candy cane roadblock to make sure only friends with Christmas cheer could pass. Rudolph the police car approved… after tasting one! 😄

Acs changed to closed Tuesday

Due to poor road conditions in the county, Anderson Community Schools will be closed today, Tuesday, December 2, 2025. This closure applies to all schools. For staff, this is a Level 1 closure. Attendance is NOT required of any student or employee who is not required by contract to attend.

6:30 AM Update: Roads in Chesterfield look amazing! Most of the neighborhood streets have already been plowed and all of the main streets are done. Hats off to our Town of Chesterfield crews!

All public schools in the area, are on a two hour delay. Main roads are wet and scattered slick, secondary roads, and neighborhood roads are snow covered. Slow down and take your time.

Anderson Community Schools will operate on a Two Hour Delay schedule on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. This delay applies to all K-12 schools within the district. There will be no AM Pre-K. Students that attend all-day Pre-K and PM Pre-K will start at 12:45 pm.

A round of winter weather is headed our way later today. Central Indiana— including Chesterfield — is expected to receive 2 to 4 inches of snowfall beginning this evening. Most of the snow should wrap up before sunrise Tuesday.

The county will remain under a yellow travel advisory until further notice after this next round of winter weather.

📍 Forecast:
• Snow Total: 2–4 inches
• When: Approximately 7:00 PM tonight through 7:00 AM Tuesday
• Road Conditions: Slick and snow-covered roads may create challenges for the Tuesday morning drive

• A Winter Weather Advisory starts at 5 PM for some counties, and expands to the entire region by 7 PM
• Wind chills will be in the 20s today and fall into the teens tonight
• Expect single-digit wind chills later in the week.

⚠️ Heads Up, — Black Ice Possible Tomorrow Morning! ⚠️

As temperatures drop overnight, conditions are right for black ice to form during the morning commute. Black ice is especially dangerous because it’s almost invisible and often catches drivers off guard.

🚗 Please use extra caution on bridges, overpasses, and untreated roadways.

❄️ Leave early, slow down, and give plenty of space between vehicles.

🚑 Our crews will be on duty and ready to respond, but we want everyone to arrive safely.
