Fifth graders at Edwards Elementary finished up their Earth Science Unit for the year by letting literature inspire two STEM projects.
The students read One Plastic Bag, Isatou Ceesay and The Recycling Women of the Gambia, and then took plastic trash bags to make RAM Pride bracelets.

The students also read Everything You Need for a Treehouse and took scrap materials and their imaginations to build treehouses.

These projects reminded the Fifth graders that they need to protect our planet's resources by reducing, reusing and recycling.

This morning, EES got to tape SRO Kelley Woodham to a pole!! Our students surpassed their goal of 4660 items donated in our annual Carolina vs. Clemson food drive back in November! This year, our students collected 6400 items that were donated to Zoar UMC for their weekend food bag outreach for EES and the Chesterfield Food Bank! As you can see from the photos, we ALL had a blast! We love Ofc. Woodham and are so grateful to have someone who supports and cares for our students like he does!!!
