North Warren Memorial Day Parade Canceled Due to Weather; Community Ceremonies to Proceed at North Warren Central School
NORTH WARREN, NY — Due to anticipated inclement weather, the North Warren Community Memorial Day Parade has been canceled. Memorial Day ceremonies will instead be held indoors at North Warren Central School, with ceremonies beginning promptly at 10:00 a.m.
All parade participants are asked to report to the school by 9:30 a.m., prepared as if they were marching in the parade.
Following the North Warren ceremony, additional Memorial Day observances in Adirondack will take place at 11:30 a.m., where the Chestertown American Legion Riders will conduct ceremonies honoring the nation’s fallen service members.
A community lunch and barbecue will follow at 12:00 p.m. at American Legion Post 964 in Chestertown.
“Rain or shine, Memorial Day remains one of the most important days for our community,” said Jack Bartlett, Town of Chester Communications Director. “While the weather may change our plans, it does not diminish our commitment to honoring the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. We encourage everyone to join us as we come together in remembrance and gratitude.”
Community members are encouraged to attend and participate in the day’s events as the North Warren community continues its longstanding tradition of honoring America’s fallen heroes.

WARREN COUNTY, NY -- Are you interested in the weather, and would you like to help local emergency responders and public works crews when severe weather hits our region?

If so, Warren County Office of Emergency Services and the National Weather Service in Albany have organized a free weather spotter training session for interested individuals the evening of Tuesday, June 9, 2026 in Queensbury. This training will help expand our local network of volunteer weather spotters, who provide details about conditions around the county during notable weather events. Registration has opened for this free workshop through this online link.

Warren County will host this session to train residents as SKYWARN volunteer weather spotters, who help keep their local communities safe by providing timely and accurate reports about significant and impactful weather to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Participants will learn from NWS staff about hazardous weather events, weather spotting criteria, updated weather outlooks, how to make formal weather reports and more.

Warren County Office of Emergency Services is sponsoring the training.

Said Ann Marie Mason, Warren County Director of Emergency Services: “SKYWARN is an important program to assist our emergency responders and weather forecasters to make sure they have accurate and up-to-date information as storms affect our county. The training is informative and worthwhile for those who want to learn more about weather or want to help keep our emergency services personnel informed about weather conditions around Warren County.”

The training will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. June 9h at Warren County Sheriff’s Office Training Room, 1400 Route 9, Queensbury.
