The original gate to Tolchester Beach Amusement Park Tolchester Maryland . Taken late 1960s after the park closed. Taken By Sue Ellen Crouch Lagno .
Word is they tried to save these but they crumbled trying to move them. 20,000 on average came to the park a day either by Boat or automobile. So if you came to the park by vehicle you went under this great arch. Do you remember entering through here? Tell us in the comments!

The grounds at the Tolchester Hotel.

30 people stand for this photo in front of the hotel grounds. This would be taken in front of the hotel facing the Chesapeake Bay. This is one of the earliest photos of the grounds that I personally have seen. Notice the Parasol the women on the left is carrying.

Just a little farther up the Bay was Betterton Maryland. The town had many Hotels and even a Amusement Pier and Movie theater and Dance Hall.
Here is a photo from 1922!
