The William Paul Faist Volunteer Ambulance Corps a dedicated group of your neighbors who live in and serve the Village of Chestnut Ridge and its surrounding communities. In the event of a medical emergency we provide immediate primary care to you, your family, and your friends. We volunteer our personal time, responding to your needs along with the paramedics, police, and firefighters. We have bee

n saving lives in the community for over 30 years. The Faist Volunteer Ambulance Corps plays a vital role in Rockland County's multi-tiered Emergency Medical System. Upon receiving a 911 call, the Dispatcher will determine the appropriate type of response. In the event of a medical emergency, motor vehicle accident, or other emergency they will dispatch the police, ambulance, paramedics, or fire department as needed. Our ambulance corps members provide 24-hour emergency medical care and transport to a local hospital responding to over 700 calls annually. We respond with Rockland Paramedic Services, who provide advanced life support if needed

Yesterday, Friday, May 22, members of the William P. Faist Volunteer Ambulance Corps had the honor of providing EMS standby coverage for the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA DONALD J. TRUMP, during his visit to Rockland Community College for an event alongside local politician Mike Lawler.

Faist had multiple crews and line officers on scene and working behind the scenes, helping lead and coordinate the EMS operations throughout the event in close partnership with the outstanding Ramapo OEM and the greatest Rockland County EMS Coordinators, EMS 1 and EMS 2.

A special thank you to Stony Point Ambulance Corps for stepping up to assist with a crew at the event, as well as covering calls within Faist’s district during the operation.

We would like to thank all of our mutual aid agencies for always being a call away whenever needed, including Nanuet Community Ambulance Corps, Pearl River Ambulance Corps, and Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps for their continued support and readiness throughout the day.

An extra thank you to Spring Hill Ambulance Corps for also providing the ALS rig for the motorcade operation, and for their Special Operations Unit remaining ready in quarters to deploy at any given moment.

A special thank you as well to New Square Hatzolah for having crews standing by in case of emergency.

We also thank Tallman Fire Department for managing the presidential landing zone and for having their Gator and EMTs on scene prepared for any emergency situation.

Thank you to Rockland Paramedic Services for having multiple ALS units on scene and on standby throughout the operation.

Thank you to all members and agencies involved for the professionalism, teamwork, and dedication displayed throughout the operation.

Today, members of the FAIST VAC participated in an important training session focused on PCR documentation.

PCRs (Patient Care Reports) are the medical reports EMS crews are required to complete during and after every call. Accurate and thorough documentation is a critical part of patient care and plays a major role in maintaining professionalism, continuity of care, and legal protection for providers and agencies alike.

The training was led by Avrumi Fried, a longtime member of William P. Faist, who shared valuable guidance and real-world experience on properly completing PCRs, avoiding common mistakes, and ensuring reports are documented clearly, accurately, and professionally.

We thank Avrumi for taking the time to educate and strengthen our members through this important training.

Today, members of William P. Faist Volunteer Ambulance Corps went down to Yeshiva of Spring Valley (YSV) for a special EMS demonstration and ambulance tour.

Students had the opportunity to get an up-close look inside one of our ambulances, learn about emergency medical services, see some of the equipment we use on calls, and ask questions about what EMS members do every day.

Thank you to YSV for having us. We always appreciate the opportunity to connect with the community and inspire the next generation.

If you’re hosting a community event, school program, carnival, or any type of gathering and would like us to attend, feel free to send us a message here. We are always happy to come out, meet the community, and bring the ambulance for people to explore.

During today’s EMS Week awards ceremony at the Rockland County EMS Headquarters, agencies from across the county gathered to recognize outstanding members for their dedication and service.

We are proud to congratulate our own Lt. Yakov Moskowitz on receiving the Member of the Year award from William P. Faist Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Yakov is truly deserving of this recognition. As an active EMT, he is constantly taking shifts and responding to calls, while also serving as our Engineering Officer, ensuring our ambulances and equipment are always maintained and response-ready.

Thank you, Yakov, for your endless dedication to our members and the community we serve.

Today our members had the opportunity to bring one of our ambulances to a local children’s carnival, where kids were able to come inside, ask questions, learn about EMS, and see firsthand what we do.

A big thank you to our members who took the time to explain the ambulance and equipment to the children and families. It was great seeing the excitement and curiosity from everyone who stopped by.

If you’re hosting a community event, school program, carnival, or any type of gathering and would like us to attend, feel free to send us a message here. We are always happy to come out, meet the community, and bring the ambulance for people to explore.

In honor of Nurses Week, William P. Faist Volunteer Ambulance Corps visited Good Samaritan Hospital and Montefiore Nyack Hospital to show appreciation to the incredible nurses and emergency room caregivers who dedicate themselves to caring for our community each and every day.

As a small token of gratitude, Faist delivered cakes to both hospitals and had the opportunity to personally thank the staff for their compassion, professionalism, and tireless commitment to patient care.

The partnership between EMS and hospital staff is something truly special, and we are grateful for everything you do behind the scenes and at the bedside.

Happy Nurses Week from all of us at William P. Faist VAC
