Oak Hill Cemetery

If you have Memorial Day flowers at Oak Hill Cemetery that you are wanting to keep, please remove them by June 26 so that the cemetery can be cleaned up. Thank you!

Utility bills:

Utility bills are due June 20th; however, the 20th is on Saturday. Payments received by 7:30 a.m. Monday, June 22nd are considered on time. Payments may be made in the office, over the phone, online or there is a drop slot under the drive thru window.

Notice to Bidders:
The City of Chetopa is accepting sealed bids for roof repair of the rock building at 318 Maple Street. Work includes removal and replacement/repair of existing roof. Specification of work to be completed is as follows: Girting existing roof with 2”x 4” or larger material to existing rafters, installing moisture barrier/insulation, and covering with 29 gauge or thicker metal roofing material. Also required is installation of end and side wall trim with proper seals to prevent internal water penetration/seepage. Sealed bids will be accepted until close of business on Monday, 06/15/2026, at the City Office located at 618 N. 11th Street. Any bids received after this deadline will not be considered.
The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids

Trash Service

Due to unforeseen circumstances, trash service will run one day late. South side service will be picked up on Tuesday and North side will be picked up on Wednesday. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Public works will be changing to Summer hours on Monday, June 8th. Their hours will be 7 to 3:30. Trash service will run 1 hour earlier due to the change in hours. Please pass the word. Thank you!

The Consumer Confidence Water Report (CCR) is now available. The back of the utility billing cards have an URL link to view the report on our City website or you may come by the city office, if you would like a printed copy.

Shutoffs will be Tuesday, May 26th. After hour payments may be made online or put in drop slot located on the south side of the office.

Change of Address!

The PO Box is no longer used. The billing card will still say the PO Box, until the cards are all used, so that we do not have to purchase new cards.
