⚠️ STORM DAMAGE / ROAD CLOSURES ⚠️

Please use caution if you are traveling through Cheviot this morning. Several roads are blocked or affected by storm damage, and traffic signals are out in some areas.

These are the storm-related road issues we are currently aware of:

Traffic Lights Out:

* Harrison Ave at Bridgetown Rd / Frances Ave

Road Closures / Hazards:

* Robb Ave is impassable to through traffic
* Dina Ave has a tree down in the roadway
* Ruckle Ave is completely blocked
* Harding Ave has low-hanging wires between Frances Ave and Robb Ave
*Mozart Ave is closed between Cross St and Glenmore Ave

There may be additional trees, wires, debris, or other hazards that have not yet been reported. Please use caution while traveling.

Reminder: If you come to an intersection where the traffic lights are completely out, treat the intersection as a four-way stop. Come to a complete stop and proceed when it is your turn and safe to do so.

Public Works and other crews will be out throughout the morning clearing roads and cleaning up storm damage. Please slow down, give them plenty of room to work, and do not drive around barricades or through blocked areas.

⚠️ PLEASE USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN CLEANING UP STORM DEBRIS ⚠️

As storm cleanup begins, please remember that downed power lines may still be energized and extremely dangerous. Never assume a wire is safe simply because it is lying on the ground or appears damaged.

🚨 DO NOT approach, touch, move, or drive over any downed wire. Keep children and pets away from the area and maintain a safe distance from debris that may be hiding electrical lines.

If you see a downed power line or live wire, DO NOT attempt to handle it yourself. Call 911 immediately and report its location.

Please take your time during cleanup and put safety first. What looks like a simple piece of storm debris could be hiding a serious electrical hazard.

When in doubt, stay away and call 911.

Please share this reminder with your family, friends, and neighbors.

There was a suspicious gathering at Dairy Queen tonight… 🍌🚨

After a brief investigation, Cheviot Police and Fire Departments determined it was just some members of the Savannah Bananas grabbing a sweet treat before their Cincinnati appearances.

The situation was quickly brought under control, and several smiles were documented.

Thanks to the Bananas for taking time to meet our crews tonight at Dairy Queen! ⚾🍌🚔🚒

Congratulations to Officer Austin Kilgore, whose restored 1980 Dodge St. Regis earned the award for Best Vintage Police Vehicle Lighting at the 2026 National Police Week Capitol Car Show in Washington, D.C.

Officer Kilgore proudly represented both the Greater Cincinnati Police Historical Society and the City of Cheviot on a national stage during Police Week. The vehicle is a great tribute to law enforcement history and to the officers who have served before us.

We are proud to see Cheviot represented at such a meaningful event honoring the law enforcement profession.
