My novel To Walk Humbly, Book II of the "Chicago Trilogy," will be out in just one week.
The raves keep coming in. Here's the latest:
“The richly developed characters … are among the book’s strengths. … Joseph frequently reminds readers how socioeconomic factors influence how people interact with the world. The cast is large and diverse, and their often charming, relatable interactions will draw readers deeply into the story. A vibrant tale of 1950s Chicago.” – Kirkus Reviews
I wrote about Kirkus previously. Around since the 1930s, Kirkus has become the gold standard for bookstores and libraries. They count on Kirkus for guidance on best books to buy.
To Walk Humbly (the e-book edition) will be up on Amazon in a week or so. Paperbacks will be available on Amazon and in bookstores @ $19.95.
If you wait to order from Amazon though, you may face delays. I will be shipping books next week and they'll be signed copies too. Ordering from me is a good option.
Your price will be $19.96 + $8 shipping. If your address is in MD, please add $1.20 state sales tax.

P.P.S. And if you're in the Washington area, come to the Town of Somerset (MD) on Sunday, May 18, and meet me in person. My little town is sponsoring a book launch party ... and YOU are invited.
I'll be interviewed by town historian Paige Whitley. We'll talk about the '50s, placid on the surface but roiling underneath. One topic: the brutal lynching in Mississippi of Chicago teen-ager Emmett Till. This tragedy, which I re-imagine in To Walk Humbly, is viewed as a precursor to the civil rights movement.
There'll be signed books for sale, refreshments, good conversations and more. I hope to see you there.
DATE: Sunday, May 11
TIME: 2-4 p.m.
PLACE: Somerset Town Hall ("the Red House"), 4510 Cumberland Ave., Chevy Chase MD 20815
