Here is the map for the Santa Run coming up. First night will be the 20th starting at 6pm starting at the fire station santa will do everything south of Clay st. The second night, the 21st, will be everything north of Clay st. Santa and his helpers will be moving fast so that he doesnt keep the town up to late. The Fire department will be collecting canned goods and non parishables for our local food pantry. Please consider giving, it goes to help your neighbors. Keep safe and have a Merry Christmas!

Chewelah Fire Department is on scene of a residential structure fire on Solar Loop off of Sand Canyon Rd. This is mutual aid with Stevens County Fire District 4. Fire District #5 is also on scene. This is the first run for the new Ladder 101. Engine 102 from the golf course is also on scene.

Say hello to the Chewelah Fire Departments newest apparatus. Unfortunately, the motor on our old ladder had a massive failure that was not repairable. The city council allocated funds to purchase a new to us replacement quint. A quint is a ladder truck with a pump and water tank. This truck works as a regular pumper truck. The truck is a 1999 Spartan Gladiator 75’ LTI ladder. It has a 470hp Detroit Series 60 motor, 1500 gpm pump, 400 gallon water tank, class A & B foam. The truck only has around 46,000 miles on it and came from a large department in California which took good care of it. It will have our logo on it soon and be in service shortly. (Don’t mind the audio, the phone was having issues with the motor sound.).

Brush 101 is off to General Fire in Spokane to get a complete upfit. It will get new emergency lights and siren, some upgrades on the plumbing, 2 new LED floodlights, a full complement of new hose and tools . Total upgrade cost is a little over $20,000. This cost is being paid by a grant from the Washington State Department of Natural Resources.
