Notice to Parents and Guardians: Enhancing School Safety & Health Protocols

Dear Cheyenne County School District Families,

At Cheyenne County School District, the safety, health, and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priorities. We continuously evaluate and enhance our safety protocols to ensure we provide the most secure learning environment possible for your children.

We are proud to announce a new collaboration with the Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office aimed at improving safety and health procedures across our campuses.

Key Enhancements & New Measures

V**e Sensor Installations: Through this joint effort, v**e detection sensors have been installed in key areas across school premises, including restrooms and locker rooms, where monitoring is otherwise restricted.

Donated Detection Technology: The Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office has generously donated an advanced v**e detection device to further assist our administrative team and school resource personnel in maintaining a v**e-free environment.

Proactive Prevention & Health Focus: Va**ng among youth poses significant health risks and disruption to the learning environment. These devices assist in immediate detection, allowing us to intervene quickly, educate students, and provide support.

Our Shared Commitment

This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to a safe, healthy, and drug-free school community. By combining school district resources with local law enforcement support, we are better equipped to deter youth va**ng, maintain campus security, and ensure our schools remain places where students can thrive academically and personally.

We encourage you to talk with your child about the dangers of va**ng and the importance of maintaining a safe school environment.

We kindly ask everyone to help keep our morning drop-off line moving smoothly and safely!

🚗 Quick Drop-Offs: Please use the right side of the street for quick drop-offs only.

🅿️ Need to Park? If you need to come inside the school, please park in the west parking spots going up the hill or on the left side of the street. This helps prevent traffic congestion and keeps the drop-off lane clear.

We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Colorado Ballet for visiting Cheyenne Wells School today!

What a wonderful opportunity for our students to experience the beauty and artistry of ballet while learning about its rich history and traditions! 🩰

We are so grateful for the opportunity to expose our students to different forms of art and culture and provide them with unique educational experiences they might not otherwise have.

Cheyenne Wells Elementary Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up!

⏰ 4:15 PM – 7:00 PM

📅 Friday, October 16th
⏰ 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

📚 A letter was sent home with your child containing your scheduled conference time.

If you are unsure of your scheduled time or need to reschedule, please contact the Elementary Office at 719-767-5656.

Cheyenne Wells JH/HS is trying something NEW this year for Parent-Teacher Conferences!

We have already scheduled some conferences, but we will also have plenty of OPEN TIMES for parents and guardians to stop in and visit with teachers!

📅 Thursday, October 15th – Please refer to the schedule below to see which teachers have available time slots.

📅 Friday, October 16th – Open conference times will be available until NOON!
