Feature Friday - Wyoming Girl Guard Uniform

The Wyoming Girl Guards were a precision drill and ceremony team with roots dating back to late 1880s. Two companies thrilled audiences in Cheyenne drilling with wooden rifles at public events. The uniform on display at the Museum is a replica of those worn by Company H. The Girl Guard reformed in the lead up to Wyoming's centennial in 1990 and remain active today. (Img: Aubrey Halik)

Feature Friday - M68 Claymore Mine Training Kit (INERT)

The Claymore mine was developed after the Korean War, first seeing service in Vietnam. It is a lightweight, anti-personnel mine that is also effective against unarmored vehicles. This training kit (identified by blue plugs) was used for training purposes and doesn't contain any explosive materials. The kit included a bandolier, inert training mine, simulated detonator wire, simulated blasting cap, "clacker" firing control, and circuit test kit.

Feature Friday - M7B2 "Priest" Self Propelled Howitzer

The Army introduced the first M7 self-propelled howitzers during WWII. They combined a 105mm howitzer with the chassis of the M3 Lee medium tank. They got their nickname from the vehicle’s "pulpit-like" machine gun position and a naming scheme used by the British Army. Our M7B2 was modified for service during the Korean War to gain more gun elevation for combat in mountainous conditions. (img: Aubrey Halik)
