Big trucks and buses have big blind spots and make wide turns. Knowing that could save your life. Safety starts with you on our road. Stay out of blind spots, never cut in front of a large truck or bus, and give them extra room to turn.

Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers and Officers participated in the 2026 International Road Check last week. During the three day event a total of 392 inspections were conducted statewide. Inspectors completed 243 level one inspections, a total of 117 CVSA stickers were issued to vehicles with a clean inspections. However, 88 vehicles were placed out of service for violations. Inspectors also placed 27 drivers out of service for various violations. To the drivers that earned a clean inspection a very big thank you for doing your part in keeping our highways safe. Also a big thank you to our Troopers and Officers for their dedication to safety on the highways.

This past week we were happy to host FMCSA Administrator Derek D. Barrs at the Casper Port of Entry. We are proud to work with our Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration partners in keeping our highways safe.

Top 10 Thursday! Proof of periodic inspection reigns as number one. Brake Out of Adjustment - Roto, Clamp (Short & Long), DD-3, or Bolt; jumped up to second place.
Over one third of drivers inspected had clean inspections, including 153 trucks who earned a new CVSA decal on the windshield. The Wyoming Highway Patrol sends and big thank you to all the drivers that earned a clean inspection. You professionalism is a path we can all follow in keeping our highways safe.

🎉🏆Congrats on Retirement🏆🎉

Early this month, Gloria Baker from the Evanston Port entry decided to hang up her safety vest and retire after 11 years at the port. She was instrumental in planning the Evanston POE's Truckers Appreciation week festivities every year for several years. A longtime inspector with a wealth of knowledge and good humor. We will miss working with her. We wish her happy trails and the best adventures in her retirement.

Happy trails to our Gillette Port Supervisor. Congrats on retirement Rachelle!!

After 38.5 years with the Wyoming Highway Patrol Ports of Entry, Gillette Port Supervisor Rachelle Degen is hanging up her measuring tape, height stick, permit book and inspection forms.

Rachelle's leadership, knowledge and stewardship will be greatly missed. Rachelle will be celebrated for her incredible work as an ambassador for WHP and the trucking industry for almost four decades.

Please join us in wishing the best and well deserved retirement for Rachelle!
