If you have already applied and are waiting for assistance:
You can check your position on the wait list by calling 307-633-8339 on the 13th, 14th and 15th of each month. These are the only days we have access to the wait list in the system, so please do not call outside these times as we can not assist you. Please keep in mind that
it is taking approximately 3 weeks for applications to be entered into the system from the date we receive your paper application in our office. All processing occurs in date order, on a first come, first served basis. If you require background checks, this will lengthen your time on the waitlist as DCI is running approximately 12 weeks to report any findings to the CHA. If you have general questions NOT related to your status on the wait list (such as changes in income or household composition), please call the eligibility coordinator at 307-633-8338 during normal business hours. MAIL RETURNED TO THE CHEYENNE HOUSING AUTHORITY WILL RESULT IN YOU BEING DROPPED FROM THE WAIT LIST AND YOU WILL NEED TO REAPPLY. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL BE RETURNED, RESULTING IN A DELAY IN THE PROCESSING OF YOUR APPLICATION AND LENGTHENING YOUR TIME ON THE WAIT LIST. Our wait list is currently open. The Public Housing wait list is approximately 6 months to 1 year from the date we receive your application. The Section 8 wait list is approximately 6 months to 1 year from the date we receive your application.
