Building homes. Building skills. Building stronger communities.

Soldiers from the Wyoming Army National Guard's 307th Engineer Utilities Detachment recently partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Laramie County during a two-week Innovative Readiness Training mission at the Pronghorn Crossing development in Cheyenne.

The project gave Soldiers valuable hands-on construction experience while helping create affordable housing opportunities for Wyoming families. At the conclusion of the training, Soldiers and Habitat for Humanity volunteers exchanged commemorative gifts and recognized the partnership that made the project a success.

This is what service looks like—using military training and expertise to make a lasting impact right here at home.

Thank you to Habitat for Humanity of Laramie County and all the volunteers who helped make this project possible.

RIDE FOR THE BRAND!

After 23 years of service, Chief Warrant Officer 4 Kevin Marx is retiring from the Wyoming Army National Guard, leaving behind a legacy defined by resilience, dedication, and aviation excellence.

A proud Laramie native, CW4 Marx enlisted in the Wyoming Army National Guard in 1989 immediately after graduating high school. Inspired by a family tradition of military service, he began his career with the 1022nd Medical Company and was mobilized for service in Southwest Asia just one year later—the first of four deployments throughout his distinguished career.

In 1995, CW4 Marx earned his wings as an Army Aviator and went on to serve as a medevac helicopter pilot, including a deployment to Bosnia-Herzegovina in 2001. After transitioning to civilian aviation, he spent more than a decade flying commercial helicopter missions supporting offshore oil exploration and emergency medical services.

His commitment to service brought him back to the Wyoming Army National Guard in 2014, where he resumed flying UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters before transitioning to Army fixed-wing aviation. During training, CW4 Marx survived a devastating aircraft crash that left him with a broken back. Through determination and perseverance, he completed a lengthy recovery and returned to flight status, ultimately becoming a C-12 Huron pilot.

His remarkable comeback led to additional deployments supporting operations in Afghanistan and Colombia, continuing a career marked by service wherever and whenever he was needed.

Throughout his career, CW4 Marx exemplified the warrior spirit, overcoming adversity while serving both his state and nation with honor. Since 2018, he has served full-time in the Active Guard Reserve program, providing invaluable leadership and expertise to Wyoming Army Aviation.

Please join us in thanking CW4 Marx and his family for their decades of sacrifice, service, and commitment to the Cowboy Guard.

Congratulations on your retirement, Chief, and thank you for a career defined by courage, resilience, and dedication.

RIDE FOR THE BRAND!

After 30 years of dedicated service to the Nation and the State of Wyoming, Chief Warrant Officer 5 Jeremy Sehler has retired from the Wyoming Army National Guard.

CW5 Sehler began his military career in 1996 and went on to become one of Wyoming Army Aviation’s most respected leaders, serving as a dual-rated rotary and fixed-wing aviator, instructor pilot, commander, operations officer, and aviation standardization officer. Throughout his career, he played a critical role in training, mentoring, and ensuring the readiness of countless Soldiers and aviators.

A seasoned combat veteran, CW5 Sehler deployed in support of missions to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kuwait, and Afghanistan, answering the Nation’s call time and again. His distinguished service earned him numerous awards, including the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, three Air Medals, and the prestigious Master Aviator Badge.

"His unparalleled technical expertise, leadership, and combat experience have profoundly shaped the readiness of our aviation formations," said Brig. Gen. Toby Alkire, Deputy Adjutant General of Wyoming. "He leaves behind a legacy of excellence that will resonate within the Wyoming National Guard for years to come."

Please join us in thanking CW5 Sehler and his family for three decades of sacrifice, leadership, and unwavering service.

Congratulations on your retirement, Chief, and thank you for your extraordinary commitment to the Cowboy Guard.

Planning is already underway for one of Wyoming's biggest celebrations.

The Wyoming National Guard recently hosted a Rehearsal of Concept (ROC) drill in Cheyenne, bringing together local, county, state and community partners to coordinate operations for Wyoming's America 250 celebration on July 4.

Representatives from public safety agencies, emergency responders, volunteers and event organizers worked through timelines, communications, traffic flow, aviation support and emergency response plans to ensure a safe and successful event.

"The Wyoming Military Department is proud to support Wyoming's America 250 celebration alongside our local, county, state and community partners," said Maj. Gen. Greg Porter, adjutant general for Wyoming. "This rehearsal allows everyone involved to build a shared understanding of the plan, strengthen coordination and ensure we are prepared to provide a safe and memorable event for the citizens of Wyoming."

The celebration will feature military support from the Wyoming National Guard, including UH-60 Black Hawk and C-130 Hercules flyovers.

From planning rooms to flight lines, teamwork and preparation are helping ensure Wyoming's America 250 celebration is one to remember.
