What a night at Dancing with the Stars: Halloween Edition!
We are thrilled to announce that our very own Deputy Noah Thomas and his wife, Codee Dalton, a realtor with #1 Properties, danced their way to 1st Place Judges' Choice!

Since June, all of the incredible couples competing, and their coaches have dedicated countless hours not just to perfecting their routines, but to fundraising, gathering sponsorships, and rallying our community for a phenomenal cause: the Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Wyoming. To every coach, volunteer, organizer, and person working tirelessly behind the scenes — THANK YOU!

And a special thank you, to all the sponsors, to Dancing Coach Heather Hansen for working with out team, and Cox Photo for capturing these incredible photos.

1st Place Win at the Colorado Battle of the Badges!

We are proud to share that the "Wyoming Boys" took home 1st place in the team competition at the 3rd annual Colorado Battle of the Badges practical pistol and shooting match!

This law enforcement match followed standard USPSA division guidelines and brought agencies together to sharpen skills, encourage camaraderie, and build strong interagency ties.

Our very own Deputy Maljian, put on a phenomenal individual performance by finishing 13th overall out of 94 shooters. The "Wyoming Boys" team was rounded out by Officer Tait with the Cheyenne Police Department and Deputy Maljian’s father (a retired CPD Officer currently serving as a State Park Ranger). Deputy Banks also competed at this match. Photos of Banks and Tait from the match were unavailable.

Proceeds from the event directly benefited the families of Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Coleman and Deputy Powers who tragically lost their lives in a motorcycle crash while off duty in Idaho this past June.

Huge thanks go out to Paul and the entire team at P2 Shooting Colorado for hosting and coordinating such a first-class event.

Most Wanted Subject Arrested After Hiding in Basement

Laramie County Sheriff’s Office Detectives recently received information that April Morganroth, who was featured on our Most Wanted list for an active felony forgery warrant out of Laramie County Circuit Court, may be living in a home in the 5000 block of Hickory Place in Cheyenne. Detectives observed Morganroth enter the home on October 6th.

Upon making contact with a individual who also resides at the location, detectives confirmed Morganroth was currently the only person in the home. Detectives gave multiple verbal announcements identifying themselves and ordering her to exit. When initial warnings went unanswered, deputies continued announcements over a patrol vehicle loudspeaker. With no response, detectives breached the residence, safely secured the dogs in the backyard, and entered the home. Detectives determined Morganroth was hiding in the basement and refusing to surrender. Gas was deployed, which prompted Morganroth to give herself up. Morganroth was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on a felony forgery warrant and for interference.

Cheyenne Man Arrested Following Shots Fired Incident

On Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at approximately 1526 hrs., Laramie County deputies were dispatched to the area of 4400 Greenfield Court in response to a report of shots fired. The reporting party stated that Brian Kuzma, 42, of Cheyenne, had fired a shot at a tree in his front yard.

When deputies arrived on scene, they learned that Kuzma had left the area. During the initial investigation, deputies learned that Kuzma had previously made threats towards one of residents.

Deputies located Kuzma at his residence, in the 5300 block of Imperial Court in Cheyenne. Once they confirmed he was inside, they established a perimeter around the residence. Deputies contacted Kuzma by telephone in an attempt to safely resolve the situation.

The Cheyenne Police Department/Laramie County Sheriff’s Office Joint SWAT Team and Joint Crisis Negotiation Unit were activated and responded to the scene.

Negotiators were able to maintain telephone communication with Kuzma; however, he remained uncooperative and refused to voluntarily exit the residence.

Gas was deployed in an effort to encourage Kuzma to exit. Kuzma remained uncooperative and refused to exit the residence.

A forced entry was made into the residence. A K9 unit assisted with the apprehension. Kuzma was taken into custody, transported to the Laramie Detention Center, and arrested on charges on charges of aggravated assault and stalking.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
