Your Child Isn't "Bad at Languages"
I wish parents would stop saying this.
"My child just isn't good at languages."
They're four.
What they're actually telling you is, "My child doesn't want to speak Spanish... yet."
That's completely different.
I've taught kids who wouldn't say a single Spanish word during the first few weeks. Then one day they'd randomly answer me without even thinking about it.
Nothing magical happened overnight.
They just got comfortable.
Confidence comes before fluency way more often than people realize.
Has your child ever surprised you by saying something you didn't even know they knew?
