One of today's customers at our Cheyenne Driver Services office didn't have the proper paperwork for a driver license and was... reluctant to take a driving test. We had to turn Yogi Bear away; thankfully he could bum a ride from his friends at Wyoming Game and Fish Department.

REMINDER: WYDOT Driver Services locations statewide will typically open one hour later than usual on the last Thursday of the month for standard all-staff training. That training will NOT be taking place in August, which means offices will operate as normal today.

These routine, short closures typically take place the morning of the last Thursday of each month unless otherwise announced.

Thank you Edmonds Family!!

The "Edmonds Family" Adopt-A-Highway group recently retired from the program. The group has been cleaning up its road section for 31 years (1995-2026).

Verna, age 93, and her late husband cleaned up their highway section on Wyoming Highway 296 from mile markers 0-4 while living in Crandall.

Wyoming residents in civic and other nonprofit groups are invited to join the Adopt-A-Highway program to help keep the view from Wyoming’s roads beautiful.

Adopting groups show their civic pride by creating a cleaner environment, save taxpayers money by reducing the amount of litter WYDOT must clean up and raise awareness and change attitudes about littering.

WYDOT recognizes the Adopt-A-Highway volunteers by erecting signs at each end of their adopted section.

Groups must sign an agreement to adopt a two-mile section of highway for at least two years and pick up litter at least twice a year.

Organizations interested in adopting a highway section can obtain an application and the program rules and regulations from District 5 Adopt-A-Highway coordinator Steven Otto by calling (307) 568-3400.
