WWNRT presented our 2026 Partner of the Year award to Willow Bish of the Wyoming Game and Fish, June 9, 2026 at our regular meeting.

Willow has been a valued and steadfast partner in a full range of projects throughout eastern Wyoming, and is highly deserving of this recognition. She has implemented millions of dollars in projects on the ground, raised matching funds, written grants, offered creative solutions, and perhaps most importantly, fostered positive relations with dozens, if not hundreds, of landowners and others.

Our Board and Staff appreciate her work, her insight, and her integrity. Congratulations Willow!

Pete's Pond in Dubois represented their community well during the kids fishing day with over 60 young people participating, along with their families. This is a wonderful project that WWNRT was able to help fund. Pete's Pond was completed in 2016 and you will see it being used on a daily basis.

Did you know that WWNRT conducts a site visit for every application before they allocate any funds to a project? There are many miles traveled and some amazing projects seen. WWNRT values the partners that put all of the work on the ground. There are some great projects coming soon!

Happy Earth Day!
We love what we do and the work that has been done at WWNRT because it is Earth Day every day. We are currently doing site visits for a number of potential projects that will protect and improve habitat that make Wyoming special.

(Fine print - we are also celebrating Bob's birthday!)

The WWNRT was recently honored at the 2025 Wyoming Stock Growers Environmental Stewardship Tour for twenty years of conserving and enhancing all that we love about Wyoming. There are many to thank, but WWNRT could not accomplish our mission without the dedication of our amazing partners. It is amazing to see what the WWNRT has accomplished in their first twenty years, think of the things that can and will be done in the next twenty years!

On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, the WWNRT board approved $5.6 million in grants resulting in $30 million to enhance and conserve wildlife habitat and natural resource values for the beautiful State of Wyoming. This means a leverage of $4.40 for every dollar allocated - and a reminder that almost all of that work will be with local Wyoming businesses.
