South Suburban PADS

South Suburban PADS SSPADS provides shelter, housing, and supportive services that help people find pathways home.

SSPADS currently has 20 full time paid staff and 10 part-time staff, to manage a range of programs and services, administration and finance, programming, development and communications. Hundreds of volunteers oversee and operate our emergency shelter network. SSPADS will continue its growth from initially delivering only shelter services to a leader in the provision of transitional and permanent

housing, in conjunction with an array of supportive services. Our Country Club Hills Wellness Center, is a 77-unit permanent supportive housing development, with wraparound services, the first of its kind in the southland region, providing permanent supportive housing for formerly homeless individuals and families.

THANKS TO OUR DONORS, COMMUNITY AND SUPPORTERS! 😁 Last Thursday, we were able to serve approximately 60 families in total at our Back-to-School Community Family Resource Fair at New Faith International Baptist Church in Matteson. Some were our shelter clients, housing guests, and some were walk-ins from word of mouth. We provided the following services: free shopping from New Faith’s Resale Clothing Store and barber services. We also offered breakfast and lunch to clients and vendors.

Everyone ate, danced, won prizes, and had a great time. We had several vendors in attendance: Sertoma Star Services, Proactive Community Services, National Black Nurses Association - Illinois South Suburban Chapter, The Link & Option Center, Inc. Carrie Cares Mobile Clinic, Access Community Health Network, and many more. Thank you to everyone who made this event a success.

We would like to say thank you to those who recently donated food, nonperishable items, and fresh food. ❤️

Due to the recent power outages and so many families' losing food—and in some cases even their homes—we have experienced an overwhelming increase in people coming to us for assistance.

We are urgently in need of:
🥪 Sandwiches (ready to eat)
🍎 Individually wrapped snacks
🥤 Bottled water
🍱 Prepared meals
🥫 Nonperishable food items

Every donation, no matter how big or small, makes a difference. If you’re able to help, please reach out or drop off donations. Together, we can make sure no one in our community goes hungry during this difficult time.

Please donate, share this post, and help us spread the word. Thank you for supporting our community! ❤️🙏
