The Katz and Manne Research Institute Summer Scholars Program application is now open! Designed to provide undergraduate research related to childhood health and disease, it is accompanied by a faculty mentor and a research team.
Applications are due February 24th.

The application for the 2023 IICD Summer Research Internship is now open. Use the QR code or type up the URL as seen in the right hand corner to get started.
"The UIC English department is starting a new journal for undergraduates: the UIC Linguistic Justice Journal. We are currently accepting submissions about linguistic justice for our first publication, planned for January 2023. Publish your writing about linguistic justice! We accept literacy narratives, personal narratives, poetry, art, or even your research papers about linguistic justice! Submissions are due December 17." Head to uic.edu and search "Linguistic Justice Journal" under the English department or use the QR code in the flyer. This is an outlet for students to help publish and share work in their respected style(s).
Want to share your German Studies project? The University of British Columbia is calling for student submissions for their Journal in Undergraduate German Studies. An open-access journal meant to highlight student work in German Studies with students from all over.
From traditional papers, to creative projects, to multilingual concepts, there is room to explore your idea and share it with others. Think about submitting, and go to their website for more information.
[email protected] GANAS Research Fellowship application is almost closed (December 15th). Though centered around Latinx experiences, anyone who is Pell Grant eligible is encouraged to apply. Focused on intensive research experiences in the Life Sciences, Chemistry and other STEM related careers. Go to UIC's website for further info!
The Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP) is open. Founded 35 years ago at UIC to expose underrepresented sophomores and juniors to academic research experiences. It provides up to $4000, and an opportunity to work with R1 faculty! Though we are a bit away from February, you can start the application now. Rising seniors, here is an opportunity for you! A practical summer research experience at The University of Michigan, between May 30th and June 10th, 2023. The research forum showcases undergraduate student research covering a broad range of scholarship across a variety of disciplines. If you’re an undergraduate student who is involved in research or creative inquiry projects on campus under the direction of a UIC faculty member or supervisor, please consider attending the forum to present your work!

Check out the LAS Undergraduate Research Initiative (LASURI). The application deadline is approaching. The Liberal Arts & Sciences Undergraduate Research Initiative encourages students to develop their research skills by providing financial support to undergraduate students enrolled in the College of LAS. LASURI aims to:
•develop the research, communication, and leadership skills of undergraduate students.
•provide pathways for long-term faculty-student mentorship relationships.
•facilitate the development of mutually beneficial research partnerships between undergraduates and faculty members.

Are you an undergraduate student in the College of Education? Check out the Engaged Research Fellowship! This opportunity is faculty-mentored research connected to social justice. This fellowship emphasized applied research on justice-related issues and community based organizations. The application deadline is March 15th for the summer fellowship beginning in July.

The Urban Public Policy Fellowship program is a leadership development program designed to expose historically underrepresented minority undergraduate students at the University of Illinois at Chicago to key public policy issues. The program provides Fellows with weekly seminars offering a solid introduction to theory and practice in the areas of public policymaking, advocacy, community development, and service provision along with a valuable internship experience.

SIP offers hands-on learning experiences for UIC undergraduate students that advance the overall mission of greater social, economic, and environmental sustainability in the campus community. SIP offers internship placement at a UIC department affiliated organization, weekly seminars, and field outings that cover a range of educational and skill building topics, leadership development and project management experience. • Summer Scholars spend eight or more weeks working daily with their faculty mentor and research team during the summer. In addition, the Summer Scholars participate in a weekly course to socialize while learning about scientific presentations and careers in science from participating faculty members.
