For families experiencing homelessness, securing supplies for the upcoming school year can be a major source of stress.

That’s why we’re so grateful to our partners NAHSE Chicago for supporting Primo families during this back-to-school season. Volunteers donated and packed backpacks full of books and supplies, giving our youth the chance to choose what they needed to feel ready and confident for a new school year.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped bring this meaningful event to life. And a special thank you to NAHSE President Naomi Tolbert and NAHSE Secretary Jamia Thomas for their leadership.

Recently, the Eastern Stars Chapter #8 hosted a Purses of Purpose event for our ladies at Primo center.

As the name suggests, this event was about more than just purses. It was a gesture of dignity and care for women experiencing homelessness. It was a reminder that every woman deserves to be seen, valued, and supported. Through fellowship and compassion, the event created a meaningful space full of warmth.

A special thank you to Ms. Sherese Reed and everyone who helped make this event possible. This is what compassion in action truly looks like!

At Primo Center, people are always at the heart of our work.

This truth is a guiding principle as we navigate a future that is becoming increasingly digital. Our partners at RedMane Technology - US and Canada led a discussion on how AI can be used ethically to streamline our operations, strengthen our processes, and better serve our families.

Thank you to Primo Board Member Cheryl Hartshorne, Allison Lowery, Brent Mix, and the RedMane team for leading this discussion and investing in Primo’s mission. We look forward to continuing the conversation and maximizing our impact!

Primo Center hosted a Lovie Adoption Day for our families, a joyful event filled with comfort, choice, and connection.

Thanks to the generous donation from Classic Kids, children were invited to choose from Lovies of all shapes and sizes, picking the one that felt just right.

For children experiencing homelessness, choices are not always guaranteed. And even a small choice can offer a powerful sense of agency. That meaning was clear as children explored the room with bright eyes, knowing they could choose the Lovie they wanted most.

We are so grateful to Classic Kids for providing the Lovies and to our Primo staff for helping make this special day possible! 💚🤍
