The Puerto Rican Police Association and the great Officers of the 25th District of the Chicago Police Dept. were on Belmont and Laramie with Alderman Felix Cardona Jr, Alderman Reboyras, Senator Iris Martinez, Commander Adnardo Gutierrez and Miguel Vazquez of Workshop 4200 giving out food and resources that Grace and Peace Church helps supply to the families in need.

Later that afternoon we were handing out candy in the 31st Ward to children to ensure Halloween wasn’t completely canceled, being absolutely socially responsible with the wonderful organization Spread Love Chicago who sponsored the event. Special thanks to Elena Magdeleno the organizer; 31st Ward Alderman Felix Cardorna Jr. and the great officers of the 25th District who continue to make a difference in the communities they serve and protect.

Serving with Pride,
Puerto Rican Police Association.

The Puerto Rican Police Association and Chicagoland law enforcement community Is sending our prayers to the Los Angeles Sheriff Deputies and their families that were viciously ambushed and shot while sitting in their squad car. Seeing this ruthless criminal trying to gun down our brothers and sisters in blue is horrific and heartbreaking. This is supposed to be a country that we’re able to agree to disagree to without reverting to violence. What has become of us, as a country if we continue to condone this type of behavior. People we are better than this as a society!”

Remembering the Heroes of 9/11

PRPA Chicago

Hello to all our members and supporters,

As we proceed to second half of 2020 the Puerto Rican Police Association and our partners have been affected by COVID 19 in many ways not imaginable. It has forced cancellations of many of our community events and limited our interactions with everyone on a personal level within our communities.

We are in the process of formulating some very important programs to promote unity, education and culture. This is one of our many goals, having our police officers in our organization, who have grown up and still live in the community we serve and protect a base to work out of. It will make our communities better, safer and give them an outlet to support to help bring people upward and not leave them behind during these difficult times.

Moving forward we are back in motion and starting to fix our new office that will be located on the border of the Hermosa Park / Humboldt Park area that will enable us collaborate with our members, partners and the communities with serve and protect. We will announce our opening date very soon and we hope you would stop by and see what we are putting together as an entity for the Chicagoland area. You are going to be surprised by what’s being placed in motion, “while others just talk the PRPA and our partners are about substance!”

1. Leading and conducting anti-violence programs to improve safety in our communities.
2. Restorative justice sessions for our youth to mentor and to help build partnerships in our young community.
3. Updating our website to include employment opportunities, PRPA and community events and safety alerts.
4. Cultural awareness, which includes business startups, language and proper history programs to learn Spanish and Latin American History.
5. Financial awareness classes to educate our police officers and community on investment programs, housing and gentrification issues.
6. Awarding recipients with the Puerto Rican Police Association’s Scholarship Program to assist students to reach their educational and career goals in the honor of Felix “Tony” Olivieri the first President of the PRPA thanks to donations from Rose Olivieri, her familia.

We are community based organization and a integral part of the Chicago that has partnered with both law enforcement and civilian associate organizations for over forty years to help improve our community and society. Please stay tuned for the announcement to the grand opening and changes to our website at www.prpachicago.com and become part of a great organization that is about making a difference.

Sincere thanks,
Puerto Rican Police Association

The Puerto Rican Polica Association Chicago promotes and encourages a greater understanding and cooperation between the Hispanic community, the Chicago Police Department, and all other law enforcement agencies.
