Pupdate! Pierre, who was adopted in June of 2021, is doing great. His owner reports: “We are doing good! Pierre loves having the run of the house; he has claimed his spot on the couch and will annoy you to give it up and move if you sit there.”
Pupdate! Stuart, who was adopted in July of 2021, is doing great! His owner reports: “Stuart is doing great and is happy and healthy. He is very relaxed and very much a comfort dog.”
Happy First Night of Hanukkah to all those who celebrate!
Great News! Livi is now available for adoption. Livi comes to us from and she is the sweetest girl. If it weren’t for the scars all over her body, you would never know the pain she has endured throughout her short life. Livi is approximately 2 years of age and has likely been a mom more than once. She is so kind and affectionate and we are excited to give her the life she deserves. She is fully housebroken, and loves treats, and cuddling. She is also friendly with other dogs and would do great in most households.
If you are interested in adopting Livi, Please email [email protected]eriff.org
Pupdate! Grover, formally known as Zeus, who was adopted in April of 2022, is doing great. His owner reports: “Grover is still a major love bug. However, he is choosing not to participate in Christmas pajamas. You can see his disgust in this photo. He and his cousin are in charge of our neighborhood watch program.”

Great News: Jazzy, formally known as Dotty, was officially adopted! Jazzy had been at the Cicero Waggin’ Tails Animal Shelter for over 6 months. Our Tails of Redemption program was truly her last chance at “redemption.” In just over a week with us, Jazzy learned to sit, stay, heel, down, roll-over, crawl, paw, and leave it.
We wish Jazzy and her new mom, Tara, the very best in this wonderful new chapter of life. (We’ve already learned from Tara that Jazzy has gained weight and is doing great!)

What a great week for our Tails of Redemption Program! We currently have 4 wonderful dogs, all of whom had a great time working on their walking etiquette at the park last week before the weather turned on us. Our little pup, Ava, even met a wonderful new friend from the Chicago Police Department. Our team made sure to let our fur babies enjoy the last of the nice weather!
During a weekly visit to La Rabida Children's Hospital, K9 Zilly and her handler, Officer Roman, met with a woman and her son. The woman said that she was looking for a dog of her own for her and her son. Our Officer Roman shared some details about one of our Cook County Sheriff's Office "Tails of Redemption" dogs, Bubbles, who seemed to be just the kind of dog this family wanted. The family was able to meet Bubbles and fell in love with her.
We’re so glad that Bubbles has found her forever family!
Dotty, an adorable 10-month-old German Shepherd, is available for adoption. She is so sweet, loves everyone, and would love to just snuggle up and kiss you. She has been sitting in the Waggin' Tails Animal Shelter/Cicero Animal Control since June 9th and desperately needs a loving home. If you are interested in adopting Dotty, please email [email protected]. If you can’t take her on in your own home right now, please share this post so we can find her a home!
This Veterans Day, we are highlighting our Veteran Affairs Liaison and U.S. Air Force Veteran, Officer John Coddington.
