The Board of Election Commissioners launched "Voter Engagement" in 2011 to work with Civic and Community Leaders to forge a strategic plan of comprehensive election reforms aimed at boosting registration and turnouts here and nationwide - for 2012 and beyond. The Board of Elections manages one of the largest election systems in the nation, overseeing all voter registration and election administration in the City of Chicago.

Hello to our new home at the Harold Washington Library! Over 500 handwritten Chicago election ledgers and pollbooks dated 1880 through 1980 - a century’s worth of records - have been successfully treated for mold remediation and are now stored in Special Collections for future research and digitization. This was a two-year project in the making and we thank our partners at the Chicago Public Library 📚 🗳️💕
