Early Voting in all 50 Wards of Chicago will begin Monday, February 13 and run through February 28, 2023 (Election Day). All 50 Ward Early Voting sites and the Board Supersite (191 N. Clark) will be open as vote centers on Election Day. Any voter in Chicago can vote at any Early Voting site, no matter where they live in the city. Early Voting for Chicago Mayor, City Council Starts Jan. 26 Downtown, Expands Citywide Feb. 13

"Chicago voters can cast their ballots for mayor, alderpeople and police district council members starting Jan. 26 at two Downtown locations and Feb. 13 across the city. Election Day is Feb. 28. In races for mayor and City Council, if no candidate wins more than 50% of the vote, the top two candidates will head to a runoff on April 4.

The Chicago Board of Election Commissioners will open its supersite to voters at 191 N. Clark St. and the Board of Elections office at 69 W. Washington St., 6th floor, starting Jan. 26 – now that all but two of the ballot challenges have been resolved. Voting will take place at both locations from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays, officials said. Starting Feb. 20, both polling places will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays." WTTW News

Chicago residents can now apply online to Vote By Mail for the February 28, 2023, Municipal Election.

Chicago Board of Election Commissioners will start mailing ballots in late January 2023. All Vote By Mail ballots come with postage-paid Ballot Return Envelopes.

You may return your ballot through standard US mail or submit it in a secured drop box at any Chicago Early Voting location before Election Day.

Voters can join a Permanent Vote By Mail Roster and have their ballots sent directly to their preferred address ahead of every election.

As Chicago gears up for city elections, the formerly incarcerated need to know they have right to vote

From the The Chicago Sun-Times: "Yet too many people we talked to thought that voting did not matter, because they didn’t know they were allowed to vote. Illinois is one of the few states in the country, however, where people can vote as soon as they are released from incarceration."

Formerly incarcerated people showing up to the polls opens doors for person-centered research and advocacy on policies that will impact their lives.

Click below for the updated Chicago Electoral Board hearing officer schedule – the next hearings begin Thurs, December 15 starting at 3:00pm.

This schedule will take us through the rest of December until 12/23, and the latest hearing now scheduled on Tues, January 3, 2023. We expect additional hearings to continue to be scheduled during this time in December and the first week of January.

Throughout this time, the Chicago Electoral Board (our three Board members: Chair Marisel Hernandez, Commissioner William Kresse, & Commissioner June A. Brown) will continue to meet to hear and decide upon cases that have received a final written recommendation from the hearing officer. We expect the next Chicago Electoral Board meeting to be next week, week of December 19-23. 🗳
