The Legislature deliberated at length on the disbursement of funds to both tribal members and employees. Ultimately, the Legislators made this decision to disburse funds to employees and tribal members based upon the advice of the treasurer, after having assessed our current economic standing while determining our future commitments.

The Treasury Department will be working to get checks into your mailbox or bank account. We’ve asked them to have this disbursed by December 20th.

We hope this will help bring you and your family joy throughout these holidays and into the next year! We’d like to thank our hardworking employees for making this all possible. We are incredibly grateful for your commitment to the people of the Ho-Chunk Nation!

Happy Indigenous People's Day!

All Ho-Chunk Nation Government Offices are open today. We look forward to serving you.

"We must acknowledge the pain and suffering reflected in the stories of Native Americans who had long resided on this land prior to the arrival of European newcomers... It is a history that we must recognize as we seek to build a brighter future -- side by side and with cooperation and mutual respect. We have made great progress together in recent years, and we will keep striving to maintain strong nation-to-nation relationships, strengthen tribal sovereignty, and help all our communities thrive."
- Barack Obama, 44th President of the United States

Chicago paper claims Ho-Chunk Nation put in bid for Lynnwood Casino. Is this why Beloit plan is stalling? A lot of tribal members in the dark?
? Rumor has it the new administration does't want Beloit Casino. ? All the work done ,kicking another tribe out and working with Beloit only to bail. Who is going to want to work with Ho-Chunk on any business venture? Are you investing in the Rockford Casino? General council is coming so don't be afraid to ask questions.
DON'T FORGET THIS IS HAPPENING TODAY!!!
Does any Native need a ride to Twelve Clans business meeting 12-6(Thursday). I will be going. Leaving from Kenosha. ? why don't they have it the same day as General Council so a lot more Ho-Chunks could attend.
Thank you for your support of the 65th Annual American Indian Center Pow Wow in Chicago. We hope you can all attend!
Does anyone in the tribe know how much $ you gave to First Nations Fin this year, last year etc. I thought they were to seek funding elsewhere. Are they not capable of doing this or are 3-4 Ho-Chunks getting their salaries paid yearly . How many tribal members get help? I called Exective,Lesislative, treas.????
I didn't see anything until today about school supplies(to Ho-Chunk descendants). A little late as usual. We live in District 4 but is it only for a select section of the tribe? I see the legislature ok'd funding in August because the paper we received today Sept. 19 stated so.
It's about 4:30 pm Friday ... and today is my last day being District 5 Legislative Aide. I would like to say that it was a pleasure being the aide to the Legislators of District 5. I also got to see tribal members that I never knew before and tribal members that I haven't seen for quite awhile. I did my best to serve District 5. Starting Monday I will be transferring over to District 2 Legislative Aide, I figured that I should try my best to serve my people in my own District 2. It was a pleasure meeting all of you and talking to some on the phone and messaging me. Peace!
Hello District 5 members! My name is Danielle DeLong. I am the new HCN Twin Cities Youth Services Director. I am excited to provide services for our children. In order to provide quality activities and events I need to know your child's needs and interests. Please take a few minutes to answer the following short and simple survey. This survey will also be available at tonight's area meeting. I am hoping to serve as many area youth as possible, as soon as possible. So please feel free to share this survey with area Hoocak families and youth in the Twin Cities area. Please contact me at 651-645-5479, or [email protected] so I can collect or verify that your child and family is in our Youth Services contact list! I am honored to be serving our youth, and look forward to getting the program up and running!
