Our Story

This page is managed by the Ho-Chunk Nation (HCN) Executive Field Offices. The HCN owns and operates two satellite offices outside Wisconsin. They include Chicago, IL and Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. Our purpose is to both assist the tribal members in those metropolis areas, and serve tribal members anywhere outside of Wisconsin. While our offices are the farthest apart, our teams at each facility coordinate with each other in the day-to-day communication of each community and outside areas.

Aho! Welcome Visitors to the Ho-Chunk Nation. We are a proud Nation of 7849 Tribal Members. We are legendary and have been on these lands for over three ice ages. Our cultural ways, songs and stories guide us with values of how to respect the land, the animals and how to live in balance with nature. We take pride in our history as we have had many of our tribal members rise to many heights and firsts. We have dominated world stages and show much respect to the ones who have prayed for us despite the challenges we have had to face. With them in mind, we continue to grow, move forward, and conduct ourselves to protect the rights of our people, thus now, and forever more.

Trying to post this but might not work.
Thank You Ho-Chunk Nation/Ho-Chunk Wisconsin Dells Gaming! The American Indian Community Development Corporation(AICDC) is opening a Hygiene Service Area(HSA)we will providing Showers,Health Assessments,Housing AssessmentsTreatment Assessments and lunch. To the Urban American Indian Community folks currently experiencing homelessness. I asked Kathy Lonetree Whiterabbit if the Ho-Chunk Nation would have any Hygiene products that may donate to the HSA. The Ho-Chunk Nation came to the rescue! Soap, shampoo, conditioner, luffas, toothpaste and lotion. These items will mean the world to our relatives! Pinagigi!
Chicago paper claims Ho-Chunk Nation put in bid for Lynnwood Casino. Is this why Beloit plan is stalling? A lot of tribal members in the dark?
? Rumor has it the new administration does't want Beloit Casino. ? All the work done ,kicking another tribe out and working with Beloit only to bail. Who is going to want to work with Ho-Chunk on any business venture? Are you investing in the Rockford Casino? General council is coming so don't be afraid to ask questions.
DON'T FORGET THIS IS HAPPENING TODAY!!!
Does any Native need a ride to Twelve Clans business meeting 12-6(Thursday). I will be going. Leaving from Kenosha. ? why don't they have it the same day as General Council so a lot more Ho-Chunks could attend.
Thank you for your support of the 65th Annual American Indian Center Pow Wow in Chicago. We hope you can all attend!
Does anyone in the tribe know how much $ you gave to First Nations Fin this year, last year etc. I thought they were to seek funding elsewhere. Are they not capable of doing this or are 3-4 Ho-Chunks getting their salaries paid yearly . How many tribal members get help? I called Exective,Lesislative, treas.????
I didn't see anything until today about school supplies(to Ho-Chunk descendants). A little late as usual. We live in District 4 but is it only for a select section of the tribe? I see the legislature ok'd funding in August because the paper we received today Sept. 19 stated so.
It's about 4:30 pm Friday ... and today is my last day being District 5 Legislative Aide. I would like to say that it was a pleasure being the aide to the Legislators of District 5. I also got to see tribal members that I never knew before and tribal members that I haven't seen for quite awhile. I did my best to serve District 5. Starting Monday I will be transferring over to District 2 Legislative Aide, I figured that I should try my best to serve my people in my own District 2. It was a pleasure meeting all of you and talking to some on the phone and messaging me. Peace!
