This past Saturday, AHEPA Chicago Lakeshore Chapter #205 held its 2026 Hellenic History Tournament at Ascension of Our Lord Greek Orthodox Church. The Hellenic Foundation is proud to support this wonderful educational initiative through our Grant Awards Program.

These amazing students demonstrated an impressive knowledge of Greek history and culture, along with a strong appreciation for their Hellenic heritage. What an inspiring event!

This past Sunday, Constantine (Kosta) Zografopulos, a key member of the All In Ministry (formerly known as TEAM Belong), spoke to the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church community in Chicago in recognition of Inclusion Awareness Sunday.

Both the All In Ministry and Kosta’s organization, Z Life, are worthy recipients of 2026 Hellenic Foundation Grant Awards, recognizing their efforts to foster inclusion, strengthen community connections, and create a greater sense of belonging within our Greek Orthodox community.

Hellenic Foundation Executive Director Peter Valessares, along with PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation Chairman Robert Buhler, took part in the Ascension of Our Lord Greek Orthodox Church Koinonia Men’s Ministry’s 27th Annual Ascension Golf Outing last week.

The outing provided a wonderful opportunity to bring together the leaders of two organizations committed to supporting and strengthening our Greek American community. It was a great day of golf and fellowship.

Wonderful to see another Golden Circle outing! Seniors from Holy Trinity Hellenic Orthodox Church Chicago took a trip to the Taste of Greektown Festival.

Today after Divine Liturgy our stewards, parishioners, and friends boarded the bus to the Taste of Greektown Festival, Sunday, August 30, 2026 (Halsted Street from Adams to Van Buren)

Announcing the 2026 Connect Conference for Orthodox Young Adults

Friday, October 2 – Sunday, October 4, 2026 at St. Mary of the Lake Conference Center in Mundelein, Illinois (Chicagoland area)

The pan-Orthodox Connect Conference for young adults ages 21–29 is coming to the Chicagoland area this fall! Connect is an annual gathering for Orthodox young adults from across the country. The conference brings young adults together for worship, fellowship, and teaching as they seek to deepen their faith and discern their calling in the Church.
