The Second Chance Summit: Expungement and Sealing Fair will provide individuals with an opportunity to learn more about clearing eligible criminal records and accessing resources that can support a fresh start.

Hosted by the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, the event will offer information and assistance related to expungement and record sealing. Pre-registration is strictly required, and space is limited. Participants must upload their RAP sheet(s) and/or Illinois State Police Criminal History Record by September 25 to participate.

With temperatures on the rise, residents are encouraged to take precautions, stay hydrated, and find a safe place to cool off when needed.

The Chicago Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) has cooling centers available throughout the city, including Community Service Centers and Senior Centers. These locations provide residents with a safe, air-conditioned space to escape the heat.

Community Service Centers:
πŸ•˜ 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Senior Centers:
πŸ•£ 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Hours may vary by location.

Residents can call 3-1-1 to find the nearest cooling center, request a well-being check for seniors or unhoused neighbors, or receive assistance with shelter placement.

Please remember to check on family members, friends, seniors, and neighbors during periods of extreme heat. Stay hydrated, stay safe, and stay cool, Chicago!
