Keeping Women Employed and on equal footing

In today's competitive job market higher education is becoming more and more of a necessity. It's not getting any cheaper though. Chicago-based organization Women Employed works to help students struggling to afford college advocate for additional funding.

Is cost the top barrier to a higher education? And if so, what should be done to increase access to college?

Chicago alderman wants ban on discrimination against jobless

The Human Rights Ordinance in Chicago prevents employers from discriminating against job candidates based on race, color, s*x, age, religion, disability, and s*xual orientation. Now the 47th ward alderman wants to add "credit history" and "gap in employment history" to the list. Do you think it's important to add these categories too?

A freshman Chicago alderman concerned about the potential for a new class of permanently unemployed workers wants to ban the rejection of job applicants because of bad credit histories or gaps in employment.
