An Israeli artist takes center stage in Chicago this September 🇮🇱🎨

Tel Aviv-based multidisciplinary artist Anat Wegier has been selected through ARC Gallery’s Athena Fund Program for a fully funded solo exhibition, The Rooms That Made Me, opening this Friday in Chicago. The Athena Fund supports artists selected by ARC for the quality of their work and commitment to their practice.

The opportunity is especially meaningful at ARC Gallery, a woman artist-run cooperative founded in 1973 during the women’s movement. For more than 50 years, the Chicago gallery has created space for women and emerging artists outside the traditional commercial gallery system.

Through figurative painting and mixed media, Wegier explores memory, family, identity and the experiences passed between generations of women. The Rooms That Made Me moves through intimate domestic spaces and rituals of care, examining vulnerability and resilience, inherited narratives, and the process of reclaiming one’s voice and sense of self.

A wonderful opportunity to discover the work of an Israeli woman artist right here in Chicago. ✨

📍 ARC Gallery, 1463 W. Chicago Ave.
🗓️ Opening reception: Friday, September 4
⏰ 5:00–8:00 PM
🎨 Exhibition on view through September 25
