The Office of Veterans Services celebrates Veterans Day on Nov. 11, 2020.
Veterans Services at Northeastern Illinois University assists Veterans and eligible dependents with processing beneifts information to secure the use of educational benefits.
Northeastern Illinois University is a public 4 year university located on the Northwest side of Chicago. NEIU is home to a community of over 400 student veterans. All of the Veterans Services staff are veterans themselves, and all have gone through the transition from military to college, including the benefit application process.

We were contacted by the USO of Illinois for a casting for NBC's hit show, Chicago Fire, seeking Veterans as extras for a shoot they are doing which involves a Veteran-theme aspect to an upcoming show.
In order to work Veterans will need their government ID (current driver's license, or state ID card and a social security card - or a current passport). A meal will be provided about half way through the working day.

The NBC show, “Chicago Fire” is casting Veterans!
Searching for all ages and ethnicities to work a one-day shoot, Thursday Feb.23rd
They are searching for males and females, all ethnicities, to work as non-speaking extras in our Veteran Hall scene. All shapes and sizes, anyone mobile or in wheelchairs, and also amputees, ages 20 to 90, needed (if you can handle working about an 8 hour day, and sometimes they shoot hours longer, we would love to have you send in). They have a one-day shoot that will start as early as 5:30 A.M. or so (the exact time will be given the day before the shoot). The rate of pay to work this scene is $150 for an 8-hour day and time and a half after 8 hours – a check will be sent about two weeks after you work, if cast.
Parking available (we pay for parking) – and a nice lunch will be provided.
If interested send your photograph in your normal attire, as we want to show pictures to our director. Send pictures ASAP! Send current hair length and facial hair.
Send photos with your height, weight, age, phone number, city, state, to [email protected] and put “Vet 2.23 ” in the subject line. This is happening fast, please send in ASAP! This means today!!!
