The Chicago World's Fair of 1893 was an American exposition held from May 1, 1893 to October 30, 1893 in Chicago, USA.
The Chicago World's Fair sold 21.5 million tickets and offered free admission to 6 million people, bringing the total number of visitors to 27.5 million. Tickets were sold for 50 cents for adults and 25 cents for children between the ages of 6 and 12, with free admission for children under 6 years old. The largest attendance was on Chicago Day, October 9, 1893, when 700,000 people attended to see the festivities and exhibits that day. Private cameras may be brought into the Expo grounds for an additional $2 per day. As a result of the successful hosting of the World's Fair, Chicago was ranked among the central cities of the United States.

As a Culinary Specialist, you’ll cook meals and work alongside chefs to prepare meals comparable to any major restaurant, so that Soldiers can sit down and enjoy a hot meal in between training or mission deployments. You’ll be responsible for preparing and servicing meals both in the field and at home stations, as well as ordering, inspecting food supplies, and keeping the kitchen safe and sanitary.
The Purple Heart is the oldest active military award in the United States. The Purple Heart began as the Badge of Military Merit, established by George Washington on August 7, 1782.
The Purple Heart medal is presented to service members who have been wounded or killed as a result of enemy action while serving in the U.S. military. A Purple Heart is a solemn distinction and means a service member has greatly sacrificed themselves, or paid the ultimate price, while in the line of duty.
Vincent Speranza, who served in the 101st Airborne Division during the Battle of the Bulge has sadly passed away at the age of 98.
In 1943, after high school graduation, Speranza enlisted in the United States Army. He attempted to join the Army at 16, but had to wait until he turned 18. He became part of the then-new Parachute Infantry and was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division. Speranza first saw combat in one of the most notable campaigns of the European Theater, the siege of Bastogne and the Battle of the Bulge. His claim to fame was bringing beer in his helmet to the wounded.
