Keep It Cute

At Broadway Youth Center, we keep it cute! Keep it cute is a list of guidelines for behavior when you’re at BYC:

- Respect People’s Differences: Allow space for each person’s unique identity, gender, sexuality, race, personal history, culture, and all of the things that make us who we are.
- Build a Hate-Free Zone: Transphobic, homophobic, or any other harmful language is not welcome. Words are very powerful. By communicating from a place of respect, we can build a more caring BYC.¬
- Maintain a Violence-Free Space: Please keep the space free of violent physical contact, harmful language or tone of voice, and aggressive body language.
- Create an Alcohol-, Drug-, and Weapon-Free Zone: Please keep the space free from visible alcohol, drugs, or weapons.
- You Are Responsible for Your Own Belongings: BYC is a place where people bring themselves, their stories, and their belongings. Only touch things that belong to you.
- Practice Consent: Respect people’s personal space. Always ask permission to touch another person’s body, or enter their personal space.
- Talk to Staff If You Are Feeling Unsafe: We recognize that it is not always possible to maintain a safe space for everyone, but we are always open to feelings and feedback.
