The CSCC hosted a media roundtable to talk about lessons learned on community safety as we mark the first year since our activation. Thank you to our guests from Institute for Nonviolence Chicago, Teamwork Englewood, Hustle Mommies, Beyond the Ball, and the Chicago Department of Family and Support Services who joined us and discussed how we work collectively to achieve sustainable violence reduction. We have a lot of work to do, but we are grateful for the partnership and the progress that we’ve made in the last year.

Beyond the Ball and Kids Off The Block, Inc. (KOB) are empowering young minds with the skills to build careers in sports – that don’t require going pro.
Positive change starts at home. And in Chicago, it starts right now. 👇🏿
Yesterday was the last day for the Sneaker Lab Program hosted by Beyond the Ball, and it was amazing!!! Congratulations to the Young People from Kids Off The Block, Inc. (KOB) and Girls Like Me Project, Inc.!!!
I was so proud of them, their shoe designs rocked! I am so grateful to Artriss Williams for hooking our young people up with this opportunity, those three days of training meant a lot to them, and they had so much fun!
Congratulations to Team 4, they won for best presentation and to Diyonna Whittaker for winning #1 KOB shoe design!!!
Our Young People deserve all the opportunities available to them, every last one!
I'm so happy for the 15 Young People on this bus, they're going to The Sneaker Lab Program hosted by Beyond the Ball!!! Thank you for choosing Kids Off The Block, Inc. July 26-28 Beyond the Ball will host “Sneaker Lab: Chicago Edition.” These summer camps are designed to expose student athletes and enthusiasts to the science, innovation and careers behind the sports they love.
Throughout the summer, the Beyond the Ball team is carving out time at the end of each camp day to discuss the impacts of violence, solutions for peace, and their hopes for the world. By taking the time to do this with students in Dallas, Texas, and Chicago, Illinois, the Beyond the Ball team hopes to reduce incidents of neighborhood violence in those communities.
Research shows that involvement in sports as a kid improves physical and mental health. How did participating in sports as a youth impact your life?
We’re incredibly excited to be !
