The Shoe Said Project is an official partner of the Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon, where we have collected over 1,000 pairs of gently used shoes since 2016. Every pair of shoes has a story of their ownโฆ. our hope is to inspire the next story for the person whose life will be impacted by receiving a much-needed pair of shoes. Through The Shoe Said Project we get to change the lives of women and children around the world.

Thank you to our partners University Community Service Center (UChicago), University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, University of Chicago Charter School, and all who participated in today's MLK Day of Service!
Volunteers served at several community-based organizations on the South Side including Share Your Soles Foundation, Bret Harte Elementary CPS, Senior Suites of South Shore, First Presbyterian Church of Chicago, Featherfist, and Hyde Park Neighborhood Club, and packed meals for Rise Against Hunger and Kraft Heinz US Foodservice Foundation.
Today's Junior High Leadership Conference was a success! We'd especially like to thank our co-facilitators from Notre Dame College Prep, as well as our panel speakers: Mona Purdy of Share Your Soles Foundation, Gary Haeger of the Chicago Bears Coat Drive, RDHS alum Karina Kedo, and Maria Ullmann of Thirst Project. Paws up to all!
In 1999, Mona Purdy founded Share Your Soles Foundation, a nonprofit that has since repurposed over 3 million pairs of gently worn shoes to those in need.

As a retailer, we have no problem in admitting we arenโt perfect in reducing our carbon footprint but we try to lead by example. From the small things such as recycling paper and cardboard in our stores, to replacing our plastic kitchenware, to switching to compostable cups at our Fleet Feet Hydration Stations on the lakefront. Our biggest effort came in 2000, when Fleet Feet became one of Share Your Solesโ first drop zones.โฃ
โฃ
We stopped by the Share Your Soles warehouse, which is apart of the Historic Pullman District. We talked to Mona about how she relies on all of her relationships such as her sponsorship with American Airlines to make a bigger impact on communities.โฃ
โฃ
Currently, Mona is organizing her efforts to help with the Hurricane Dorian disaster relief in The Bahamas. We accept gently used shoe donations at all of our Fleet Feet Chicago locations.
