Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness Journal

Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness Journal The Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness (DMPHP) journal is an official publication of the American Medical Association (AMA) and offers a unified approach for addressing the most urgent topics in this field, including applied epidemiology, health care services and systems research, clinical management issues, populationbased triage, and testing and evaluation.

Each issue features the latest in disaster preparedness, original research and analysis, public health issues, special reviews, best practices and more. In addition to the latest scientific and medical advances, the journal offers guest commentary from global leaders, as well as special updates on key topics including public health law and ethics, advocacy and policy, and strategies for advancing disaster medicine and public health preparedness in professional school curriculum.

Mission: The Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness journal seeks to translate science into practice and integrate medical and public health perspectives. With the events of September 11, the subsequent anthrax attacks, the tsunami in Indonesia, hurricane Katrina, SARS and the H1N1 Influenza Pandemic, all health care and public health professionals must be prepared to respond to emergency situations. In support of these pressing public health needs, Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness is committed to the medical and public health communities who are the stewards of the health and security of citizens worldwide.
