Beth Fishman, Program Manager of JCFS Chicago’s Addiction Services, recently participated in a panel discussion titled “Addiction: Recognition, Education, and Support” at Upward Community in West Rogers Park. The panel was sponsored by NILI - Chicago Institute of Women's Learning for its annual Women's Health Forum in partnership with the Jewish Orthodox Women's Medical Association (JOWMA_org) and Upward Community.

She shared how to recognize when behaviors may become problematic and how to approach conversations with care and compassion. The discussion also highlighted ways adults can support youth in making confident, healthy choices. The event helped create space for more open conversation around addiction.

June is National Immigrant Heritage Month, a time to recognize the diverse cultures, resilience, and contributions of immigrant communities across the country.

At JCFS, we offer a range of services to help people from around the world reunite with family members, find stability, and build a sense of belonging in their new country.

During Immigrant Heritage Month and throughout the year, we invite our community to learn more about the support, programs, and resources available to continue to support immigrants and their families.
