❄️Stay warm, Cook County—we'll have extreme cold weather for the next few days. The National Weather Service has advised that wind chills will make it feel as cold as -10°F.

To help residents combat extreme weather conditions, we're opening warming centers in the north, west and south suburbs. They'll provide water, snacks and restroom access.

The warming centers will open at 4:30 p.m. today and are located at:

Yesterday, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced the allocation of nearly $12 billion in Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery—Cook County is receiving $244M in grant funds. This will be transformational in disaster recovery and help us to safeguard our communities against future disasters.
